There is wisdom in knowing when to move, when to pause, and when to change direction
Support in high-demand environments through an integrative, body-informed approach to resilience
Resilience begins when we acknowledge what we're going through
Supporting people navigating stress, change and demanding environments through an integrative, body-informed approach to resilience.
Through individual sessions and workshops, I help people strengthen their capacity to respond to life's challenges with greater awareness, and connection.
Life can challenge us in many ways.
The demands may come from work that carries significant responsibility, a major life transition, illness, caregiving, relocation, conflict, or the accumulation of everyday pressures. Sometimes we become so focused on adapting, coping and performing that we lose connection with ourselves and the resources that help us navigate these experiences.
My work begins by understanding your unique context. Together, we explore how stress and life’s challenges are showing up in your experience, including how they may be affecting your thoughts, emotions, body, nervous system and ways of responding.
We draw on the resources available to you, creating space for new responses and meaningful shifts to emerge.
The aim is not simply to cope better. It is to support a deeper process of reconnecting with yourself, restoring a sense of safety, presence and connection.
This work may be for you if you...
Are a practitioner, researcher, or consultant in high-pressure fields—such as peacebuilding, international development, human rights, or crisis response;
Are navigating cross-cultural transitions or life changes—living between different cultures or identities, relocating, caregiving, recovering your health, or adapting to new environments;
Are a dedicated mover, athlete, or artist—engaged in physically and mentally demanding practices. like martial arts, dance, sports, or intensive movement disciplines.
Individual Sessions — Online
Resilience & Nervous System Support
One-to-one sessions for people experiencing stress, overwhelm, burnout, life transitions or prolonged stress and challenging circumstances.
We begin by understanding what is happening in your life and how it is affecting you. Through conversation and body-based awareness, we explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck in stress, survival or disconnection.
Rather than forcing change, I work at a pace that respects your capacity and draws on the resources already available to you. This creates space to notice what is happening in your body, emotions and nervous system, and to explore new ways of responding.
Together, we work to strengthen your capacity to respond to life's challenges with greater regulation, clarity and connection — so you can make choices from a place of awareness rather than simply reacting to pressure.
Each session is guided by your individual needs and may integrate reflection, awareness of physical sensations, movement, breath, visualization and other practices that support your nervous system.
I aim to offer a space that feels grounded, curious and supportive, where you can slow down, notice what is happening and explore what may help you move forward.
About Leila
My work brings together more than twenty years of international experience in development, governance, human rights, and social protection with a lifelong connection to movement and embodied practices.
I believe resilience is not something we either have or lack. It is something we cultivate by recognising and strengthening the resources within ourselves, our relationships and our communities.
Having lived and worked across Europe, Asia, MENA, South America and Sub-Saharan Africa, I have experienced the richness and complexity of navigating different cultures, identities and challenging circumstances. These experiences have shaped my understanding that resilience is influenced not only by the individual, but also by our relationships, communities and the environments we are part of.
I am a certified Mental Health First Aid and Resilience Facilitator and a Classical Yoga teacher. I am currently undertaking Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner Training.
My professional experience includes crisis helpline support, refugee mental health, human trafficking victim support, mental health and radicalisation prevention and facilitating stress and burnout retreats and workshops.
Movement has always been one of my greatest resources. Through Afro-Brazilian dance, Silvestre Technique, capoeira, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, yoga and ongoing somatic training, I continue to explore movement as a source of expression, awareness, connection and healing.
Today, I bring these experiences together to support people navigating stress, change and life's challenges.
